Craft Corner

This is probably my kiddos favorite part of HBS these days. I have been surprised by how fun, easy and engaging the Bible story crafts can be. I aim to design crafts that prompt discussions about the story and help the kids relate to it better and understand it better. What did the Tower of Babel look like? If Abraham lived in a tent how did he get light after sundown?
I keep our crafting supply drawers well-stocked and simply brainstorm fun ways to represent a key idea in each story. As a fun bonus challenge I try to mix up what media we use: torn paper, water colors, origami, paper dolls, oil pastels, printed pictures, 3D scenes, fabric, chalk, weaving, air dry clay, etc.
We've been hanging ours up on the kids' bedroom wall with Bible verses to create a timeline. It could also be fun to make a book, or a giant map. There are infinite possibilities here.
