My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you...bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart.
Proverbs 7:1,3
Memorization
Memorization of scripture doesn't have to be hard or tedious. Our family's favorite memorization technique for young kids is to listen to scripture put to music. Our favorite is Slugs & Bugs Sing the Bible (make sure to check out all of Randall Goodgame's albums!). See our Music Collection for more memorization resources. Another fun option is to design your own Bible verse cards and use them as bookmarks or mount them somewhere visible like the bathroom mirror.
Below is a list of suggested memory verses in the ESV translation. When available, the music button links to versions of the verse put to music. The bookmark button links out to Blue Letter Bible for other translations and resources. At the bottom of the page is a list of other available memorization resources such as verse cards.
