Picture Book, Jesus' Life & Ministry

Highlights of Jesus' parables and teachings told and illustrated in an engaging manner that really inspires deeper reflection.
Synopsis
After painting a picture of Jesus as a touring teacher, it moves on to retell the parable of the good Samaritan, a selection of beatitudes, building a house on rock or sand, the lost sheep, the prodigal son, and other highlights from Jesus' teachings.
What I Love
This book is very engaging and dynamic. The retellings are simple and very accurate to scripture, but the way they are retold and illustrated inspire deep reflection. Despite having a lot of words, younger children are drawn in by the illustrations. I wouldn't have necessarily selected it is an ideal design for kids, but my kids say otherwise--4yo and 6yo love it!
Weaker points
This book is more of a scripture retelling and less of a story, so don't expect a kid-friendly fleshed out version of the parables. Except a dynamic engagement with the scriptural text. At this, it does an fantastic job.
