The Garden The Curtain and the Cross

Picture Book, Lent, Bible Synopsis, EE-OT Unit 1

I recieved this book from a church friend at my baby shower for my first born. I am totally in love with this book. It is such an elegant presentation of the gospel. It is told in a manner that is very tangible and comprehensible for kids, but but in a moving and powerful way. Reading it gives me chills every time. It has been such a blessing to present the gospel to our kids through this book since the very beginning of their book-reading days.
Synopsis
The book starts in the Garden of Eden, explains the fall, discusses separation from God and sin, God dwelling in the temple, and the arrival of Jesus. It lands with redemption through His death and the eternal kingdom made possible in His resurrection.
What I Love
This book is short enough to really help the reader see the whole redemptive picture of the gospel, from creation to revelation. It does so in simple terms with helpful illustrations so that a young reader can relate to the abstract concepts. For instance, one key element of the story is the tearing of the temple curtain.
Weaker points
There are no added story plots or imagery or allegorical elements to this book. It is just describing the big picture of redemption, but that works really well in the way they've done it. The illustrations are on the abstract side, but they work well with the book.
