This series of devotionals by pastor Loui Giglio is great for science-loving kids. It discusses basic ideas about God and His word with illustrations based in science trivia--everything ranging from anatomy to astronomy. Each is based on a Bible verse and includes a two-page reflection, a going deeper paragraph and a prayer.
Synopsis
Contains 100 devotionals covering 4 main topics (space, earth, animals, people). Each stand-alone devotional is two pages and is a reflection on a single Bible verse.
What I Love
It’s neat to see science and faith combined tastefully. Giglio uses the science to point us to God and reflections on God to learn also about His world. Each two-page devotional is stand alone, making them easy to use in a short time frame.
Weaker Points
This is a fairly standard devotional style with a prayer written out at the end of each devotional. But if that’s not your style you can just skip reading the prayer part. Sometimes the connection between the science trivia and the idea about God that it represents is a bit abstract. But the biblical doctrine behind the devotional remains solid.
